ĭid you know in previous civs you could custom build units and decide what weapons, armour, if they were mobile or defensive, if they had any special abilities (like marines) etc and then you could name that unit anything. There are certinally things wrong with the game, such as diplomacy and unit production, but I don't think much of anything you listed can be considered anything more then a slight nusiance, especially when they've said they'll fix them in the near future. Your canal statement is just wrong, I don't know how else to say it other then perhaps you thought it would be an improvement tile. "Sillica" was likely replaced by Mercury, and it seems a bit silly to nitpick that one outtake when they've added so many new resources. The map types will obviously advance as time goes on Civ 5 didn't exactly have the largest selection to choose from on launch, and I'm sure an Earth map will soon be added. With city names, they've already stated they'll fix it in an upcoming patch along with other things. For starters, you can indeed rename units and check how many you have, respectivally during promotions and just by simplying clicking on the unit name. Why fix something that isn't broken?Ī few things wrong. Overall, I don't like the direction they went with the art and color. The lights and fires would look a lot better. I suppose that's what Firaxis is thinking. Maybe modders will get ahold of this and fix all these things. I know they built this from the ground up (not using previous engine) but, c'mon. I've never really understood why developers leave things out of sequals that seem like they would be so easy to include in new games. They're either paid for or the reviewer wouldn't dare piss off a major game developer. While patches are great, I'm starting to think developers are leaning too much on them. Hopefully, they'll fix all this stuff in a patch. So far, I like the game and the concepts but it is far from perfect. A screen shot released a while back showed "Silica" as a resource. They said there would be canals for ships. I could be wrong there but it sure does seem small. I've always used the Terra map where all start on one continent. I still can't figure out why I have -1 attributed to unit cost and have 5 units currently in the game I'm playing.
